In recent years the multi-tool has become a major asset to almost every tradesman and DIY enthusiast and is a must in a tool bag. Makita offer both corded and cordless multi-tools with either a hex key or a quick release blade fitting.
The first Makita multi-tool we saw was the TM3000 which has a 320W motor and a variable speed function offering anywhere between 6,000-20,000 oscillations per minute. Soon after the higher spec. TM3010 was introduced into the Makita range. Although it has the same size motor and also comes with the variable speed function it boasts the keyless, quick release function. Like almost all powertools there are cordless versions of Makita's multi-tools, the DTM50 being the cordless version of the TM3000 and the DTM51 with a quick release function can be likened to the TM3010.
There are many different accessories available by Makita for their multi-tools, these range from simple wood cutting blades to metal, wood and metal and plastic cutting blades. If fitted with the Makita B-21537 sanding pad attachment there various different sanding sheets available also.
